Brave Girl Boots!
You are reading this post because I’m sure you heard the great, awesome, fantastic news: We reached our funding goal for publishing! Yeah, God! We’ve said all along that if the funding didn’t come in, we’d assume this wasn’t the direction God wanted us to go — and He provided every cent!
” Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.” Matthew 19:26
If you are new to BGB let’s catch you up to speed! CGgirls launched a 60 day prayer challenge called Brave Girl Boots. It was AHHH MAY ZZZZING! Word began to spread (um, yeah…there is a reason why Jesus first appeared to a woman after His resurrection.) Women get the WORD out. 150 women received a daily devotional written by women from all walks of life, sharing their stories of bravery and not-so-brave moments.
During these 60 days, women were encouraged to pray three things: for God to plant a seed of vision for our lives, for the Holy Spirit to give us sensitivity to see a need during their day, and the bravery to act on it. It was truly inspiring to see women seek God like this and our faithful God met us in our need. To make it a more interactive experience we have created a group on Facebook where women just like you can meet other women with grace, love, and a good dose of brave cheer leading! And honestly, who doesn’t need that? I know this sometimes-maybe-brave girl does!
I believe God shared with me a seed of vision on Day THREE of our brave journey together. To expand this platform and encourage women from all over to be brave. That’s when the decision to raise funding happened and we went to work!
What’s the next step? I begin the process of getting the thoughts running around in my head onto paper and start laying out the book.
